Use your own team of 6 Pokemon :
You heard right! Each player is encouraged to bring his/her OWN team of 6 Pokemon to battle it out in the Stadium 2. Your team must be SAVED on any of the 5 Pokemon gameboy gamepaks (Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver), and brought with you to the Tournament to be transferred (via N64 transfer pack) into the Stadium 2.
Players are not only allowed, but are ENCOURAGED to train each of the 6 Pokemon in their team, on any of the aforementioned gameboy gamepaks to increase their abilities. Thus, the outcome of the competition will not only be determined by your combating skills in the Stadium 2, but by how well you train your Pokemon and prepare them for the tournament.
Players not bringing a custom team via gameboy gamepak, may select a team of 6 from the "rental Pokemon" included on the Pokemon Stadium 2 gamepak. Rental Pokemon from the N64 gamepak are at LEVEL 100. However, players are encouraged to form their own team as it will most likely have better stats than a team chosen from rental Pokemon. Players who will be selecting rental Pokemon will select their team of 6 at the tournament but before competition begins, and that same team of 6 Pokemon must be used for every round. In other words...if you are selecting rental Pokemon you must choose your team of 6 before competition starts and STICK with that same team throughout the competition. This way, players must choose their team wisely, and select a team of Pokemon that will be formidable fighters against any kind of attack. What's more, using this method will NOT allow RENTAL Pokemon players to select a different team each round in an effort to better match what Pokemon their opponent is using. Each player's team will be selected before competition starts, and must remain using that same team for the entire tournament.
* If you are bringing your own custom team on a gameboy gamepak, please bring a Nintendo TRANSFER PAK if you have one. Make sure to clearly LABEL any items you bring (gameboy gamepaks, transfer paks) with at the least your NAME on it.
ITEMS - Players will be allowed to assign ONE item to each Pokemon in their team.
LEVEL LIMIT : Pokemon may not be higher than Level 100. Furthermore, each Pokemon's ability levels (Attack, Defense, Speed, Special) must fall within the range of what would be expected of a LEVEL 100 Pokemon. This will be checked upon entering the tournament.
**** STRICT GUIDELINES APPLY to the methods in which you increase your Pokemons' abilities. You are ONLY allowed to utilize methods of NORMAL GAME PLAY to increase your Pokemons' abilities. Use of game enhancement devices (i.e. GameShark) is STRICTLY prohibited. Game glitches that allow stats to be boosted beyond the boundaries of what can be attained in NORMAL GAME PLAY are also prohibited. Upon arriving at the tournament, each player will be required to have their team verified by the NH Video Warriors to determine that your 6 Pokemon are within the limits of fair play and that no glitches/game enhancement devices have been used to achieve your Pokemons' statistics.
**** WARNING, if at any time during the tournament it is discovered that a player has CHEATED these rules of fair play, they will be immediately dismissed from the tournament. Furthermore, that player will be banned from entering any future event hosted by the NH Video Warriors. Our team honors itself by maintaining a strict policy of NO cheats/codes/tricks/or unfair play of any kind, and will expect that all participants uphold these same values.
