Lesson Seven
Sit Stay 10'

Lead Choice: 15’ Review Lesson 6. Stand next to your dog in heel position. Hold the handle of the lead only down by your side. Stay “Stay” and give the open hand hand signal. Keep your body upright and walk out 10’, leading with your right (outside) leg. This way your dog can learn to distinguish between ‘heel’ and ‘stay’. He will follow your leg.

Turn toward your dog and reissue the “Stay” command. Should he break the command and move towards you, run in, say “No, Sit - Stay” and grab the lead near the dog and pull up into the sit position using the sit correction.
