Alcide applied for a marriage license to wed Lena Laura Lebel October 18, 1919 in Laconia, Belknap Co, NH. Conflicting evidence states that he died May 10, 1965 in Laconia, Belknap Co, NH. "(His) life is a story of success won by hard work, shrewd business sense, the ability to take advantage of trends in his chosen trade of hosiery and thrift which allowed him to take advantage of opportunities." He had come to the city at the age of 15 and started work as a turner boy in William Clow and Son Hosiery Mill which he was able to purchase when it was liquidated. He remodelled and modernized the Union Ave. plant, and later took over the Sulloway Mills in Franklin and the Fenwick Mill in Belmont. ⁽¹⁾
