FUNDRAISER by Marie Grenier, 1st Vice Pres.

The Alumni Day festivities have traditionally started out with the parade, followed by the business meeting, and the banquet in the school gym in the evening.  Unless you live in the area, all the preparations are done by your officers, committee members, and classmates.  You are able to come back and enjoy what they have been working on for many months in order to make this all come together successfully.   Needless to say, all good things cost money, and we are again asking you to buy the enclosed tickets to help with the expenses of the parade performers.  As most of you know, we have to make a donation or pay a fee for the units that participate in the parade. Some of these units  travel  here from New York, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, upper Vermont-New Hampshire, and Connecticut.  I was talking with a local individual who had no idea that costs were involved in getting these units to come here.  Unfortunately, many people think this is true and do not buy the tickets.  Because dues money, donations, and scholarship funds are targeted for office expenses, mailings, banquet preparations, and scholarships, we have to find other means to pay the parade expenses and raffle prizes incurred on Alumni Day itself.      So, please, open up your hearts and pocketbooks and help with these costs by either paying your yearly dues or buying one, two, three, or all four of the enclosed tickets.  Your odds of winning one of the prizes are much greater than any lottery ticket you might purchase during the year.      Due to new postal regulations, we need to clarify that no purchase is necessary to enter the raffle, but we do count heavily on your donations and full support toward this endeavor.   Last year's lucky winners were ($550) Ronald Nelson, Deane Hilliard; ($350) Barbara Bass, Mr. & Mrs. Michael Douglas; ($50) James Page, Robert Gokey, Evelyn Pozniak, Joyce Childs, Margaret Daniel, Joy Hastings, Cassie Sweet, Elma Bertram, Margaret McDonald, amd Donna Cornett.

Your name could be  listed  here  next year!
