La Mano Animada

"La Mano Animada" (The Spirited Hand) is a multicultural program featuring prominent folk artists from Latin America. This program allows students to become acquainted with people from diverse cultures and actually work side by side with them. On a typical day the whole school population is invited to a series of lecture/demonstrations and dialogues with the artist(s). Attention is given to hands on workshops and follow-up activities in the classrooms. A study guide and video presentation which encompasses many aspects of the artists' country is included with each visit.
